Job Description

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a labor focused Scheduler to support labor planning, workforce efficiency, and operational performance. This role is responsible for developing and managing workforce schedules that align staffing resources with production demands, equipment availability, and business objectives.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Logistics, and Human Resources teams to ensure effective workforce utilization and operational continuity. This position is ideal for an analytical, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with data, scheduling systems, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and long-range workforce schedules to support production requirements.
  • Optimize labor utilization by aligning staffing levels with production demands, operational constraints, and equipment availability.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments to ensure workforce plans support production forecasts and operational priorities.
  • Manage workforce scheduling systems, including schedule patterns, employee skills, labor groups, and forecasting tools.
  • Integrate workforce planning data with ERP/MRP systems to support accurate labor assignments and resource allocation.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on labor performance metrics, workforce trends, and seasonal staffing requirements.
  • Adjust staffing plans in response to changing business needs while maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Ensure workforce scheduling practices comply with applicable safety, quality, regulatory, and labor requirements.
  • Support fair and consistent distribution of overtime and additional work opportunities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing productivity, reducing waste, and enhancing workforce effectiveness.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, production planning, workforce scheduling, or a related field.
  • Experience using workforce management (WFM) scheduling platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of workforce planning, labor scheduling, and operational performance metrics.

Preferred 

  • 3–5 years of experience within manufacturing, food production, agriculture, or other high-volume industrial operations.
  • Experience with workforce forecasting and labor analytics.
  • Knowledge of food safety, quality, regulatory, or workplace safety standards.
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
