Summary
Lead the team that keeps operations running at peak performance. As a Maintenance Superintendent, you will oversee maintenance operations for a designated area of the plant and or shift, guiding skilled technicians, driving equipment reliability, and supporting safe and efficient production. You will play a key role in strengthening maintenance strategies, developing team talent, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assistsin the planning,organizingand directing in the development of the maintenance work plan; assigns methods and procedures.
- Assistsin recommending maintenance and operating procedures for new facilities prior to and during contraction.
- Developnew layout designs foruse ininstalling new equipment/processes,as well aschanges toexist.
- Prepares estimates of needed equipment, materials,suppliesand labor. Supervises the repair of alltypesof building,mechanicaland structural problems.
- Reviews completed work orders; assists in establishing work policies, maintenance and repair standards.
- Develops,maintainsand updates as necessary a preventive maintenance program using the technology provided by the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) systemtoincrease the reliability of the equipment and minimize production line downtime related to equipment failure.
- Identifieschronic maintenance problem areas and recommends courses of action necessary to repair,modifyor replace equipment byutilizingmachine downtime and machine history data as available from the CMMS systemin order toincrease machine efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Ensures that the activities of the Maintenance Department adhere to USDA regulations and plant quality control standards by keeping the Maintenance Supervisors and mechanics informed of the proper procedures andmonitoringtheir compliancetomaximize the Company's ability to provide high quality products.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineeringor related discipline.
- 3-5yearsrelated experience.
- Experience in layout, drafting, project management, ergonomic design, Industrial Engineering, CAD Operation and USDA requirements.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors
- May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
- May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
When in a plant environment:
- Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- May handle products from 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.
- May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, and processingfacility.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipmentrequiredfor the job as directed by the Company.
